Monte Sereno appoints Lon Allen as vice mayor on Aug. 19

Lon Allan was appointed vice mayor of Monte Sereno by the City Council on Aug. 19 after being appointed to the council seat on Aug. 5 to fill Councilmember Evert Wolsheimer's vacancy. Javed Ellahie resigned as vice mayor earlier this year due to medical reasons. Allan was elected vice mayor by three of the four remaining council members and will serve until Dec. 16. Allan previously served as mayor 10 years ago and has lived in Monte Sereno with his wife for 46 years. One vacancy remains on the Monte Sereno City Council. The Art Docents of Los Gatos will host a fall mixer on Sept. 9 featuring Dasha Ortenberg; the event is free, refreshments will be provided, and RSVPs are requested.

They are funded by membership dues and community grants. The fall mixer will feature Dasha Ortenberg, an artist, designer, curator, planner, consultant and strategist based in San Francisco, who will present Looking for Art, But Don't Know Where to Start? According to a press release. This presentation will include a discussion of diverse media, delightful creations, critical questions and blurred boundaries among art, design, science and activism.
