"An investigation is underway following the sudden deaths of the couple behind an exotic fruit and coffee farm located in California's Central Coast. John and Kristen Ruskey, who owned Good Land Organics in Goleta, died at a Cambria residence on Sunday, according to Tony Cipolla, a public information officer at the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office. Cipolla said autopsies and toxicology results are pending but the deaths do not appear suspicious at this time."
"The deceased parents left behind three teenage children, according to a GoFundMe page that has been set up with a goal of $140,000 for use for memorial arrangements, funeral costs and other "financial pressure," organizer Jose Caballero wrote. Caballero confirmed in a call with SFGATE that the funds will go exclusively to the family, but declined to offer any further comment regarding the Ruskeys or their sudden death. As of Thursday afternoon, more than $125,000 has been donated."
