"There has been significant progress and effort to streamline rebuilding and recovery in the impacted areas of Altadena and the Pacific Palisades,"
"We're incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support we've seen from around the globe, and for the role that our local travel and tourism community has played in the recovery process."
"Since tourism is one of the region's largest drivers of employment, local business sales, and tax revenues, the best way to support ongoing recovery efforts is to continue visiting Los Angeles for leisure, business, and meetings and events,"
Two wildfires ignited on Jan. 7, 2025: the Palisades Fire in Malibu and Pacific Palisades and the Eaton Fire in Altadena, about 35 miles inland. The Eaton Fire caused 19 deaths and destroyed 9,413 structures, and the Palisades Fire caused 12 deaths and destroyed 6,833 structures. Both fires were not contained until the end of January. Recovery remains underway 11 months later, with significant progress and streamlined rebuilding in Altadena and Pacific Palisades. Global support and local tourism community efforts have aided recovery. The fires affected less than 5 percent of Los Angeles County, and most major attractions remain open.
