Fligor led with 40% of the vote just after 8 p.m. Former Saratoga Councilmember Rishi Kumar trailed behind her with 24% of the vote, followed closely by Saratoga Councilmember Yan Zhao with nearly 21% of the vote and East Side Union High School District Trustee Bryan Do with 15% of the vote."
Santa Clara County held its first open assessor's race in more than three decades after longtime Assessor Larry Stone stepped down in July ahead of his term's December 2026 expiration. Stone, 84, was first elected in 1994 and was the county's longest-serving elected official. The assessor oversees an $8 billion public enterprise that assesses more than 500,000 properties. Los Altos Vice Mayor Neysa Fligor led early with 40% of the vote, followed by Rishi Kumar at 24%, Yan Zhao at nearly 21%, and Bryan Do at 15%. If no candidate surpasses 50%, the top two will contest a December runoff. Greg Monteverde is serving as interim assessor; he was previously the assistant assessor.
