"On Dec. 2, police started their investigation after Hurst's brother reported him missing and a woman told 911 that she could see inside Hurst's home in the 1000 block of North P Street and he appeared to be dead on the kitchen floor, according to court records. Authorities say they found evidence that Hurst was stabbed to death with a kitchen knife on Nov. 28, according to court records."

Police began investigating on Dec. 2 after Hurst's brother reported him missing and a caller said she saw him dead on the kitchen floor. Authorities found evidence Hurst was stabbed on Nov. 28 and his body was badly decomposing. Roommate Brayam Adoni Chirinos was arrested Dec. 3 in San Francisco, charged with murder, allegedly confessed, and held without bail. Motive remains under investigation.
