"Credit is due Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE), a Sunnyvale-based clean electricity provider, is issuing at total of $33 million to its customers through a one-time automatic bill credit. Residential customers in Cupertino and other South Bay cities will receive a credit of approximately $50nearly 24% of the average total monthly energy bill. Nonresidential customers will also receive a credit, which will be determined by the customers' historic energy use."
"Credits will be automatically applied to upcoming PG&E bills for electricity used in August. The SVCE Board of Directors identified affordable energy as a top issue for the agency and found the funding for the bill credits during its midyear budget review. Reinvesting in our communities is core to the SV Clean Energy mission, said SVCE Board Chair and Los Altos Hills Councilmember George Tyson in a release."
A hybrid candidate forum and pro-con presentation will take place Oct. 7, hosted by five League of Women Voters chapters in Santa Clara County. Four candidates for the unexpired term of former County Assessor Larry Stone—Yan Zhao, Rishi Kumar, Neysa Fligor and Bryan Do—will introduce themselves and answer attendee-submitted questions. The pro-con portion will cover state Proposition 50 and county Measure A. The event will be held at 7 p.m. at Quinlan Community Center in Cupertino with Zoom participation and online registration; a recording will be posted afterward. Silicon Valley Clean Energy will issue a one-time $33 million automatic bill credit to customers, with residential credits around $50 applied to upcoming PG&E bills for August usage and nonresidential credits based on historic energy use; funding was identified during a midyear budget review to help address rising costs.
