A 20-year-old Dublin man allegedly spent weeks building unregistered 'ghost' guns at his Newfields Lane home. Shortly before 2 a.m. on March 4, an Alameda County deputy spotted him climbing a fence near Fallon Road and Cydonia Court and attempted to search a bag he carried. The deputy reported feeling a gun and said Davis physically resisted, leading to a ground struggle near the wilderness line. Davis allegedly ignored commands to stop resisting, assaulted and punched the deputy while trying to access a cross-body bag, then stood up and fled while reaching into the bag. Text messages show Davis urged his mother to hide items and warned that officers had him surrounded; his mother allegedly replied, "Don't admit to anything."

While on the ground, Davis ignored numerous lawful commands to 'stop resisting' and he continuously assaulted and punched Deputy DeSouza while attempting to access the cross-body bag. Davis was able to stand up and flee again on foot while reaching into the bag that was in his possession,
