"The holiday season officially kicks off in Los Gatos on Friday, Dec. 5, with the annual lighting of the Christmas tree. Los Gatos hosts multiple holiday events across December, beginning with a Christmas tree lighting on Friday, Dec. 5, featuring musical performances, a mayoral holiday message, and a Santa visit from 5-7 p.m. The 69th Los Gatos Children's Christmas/Holidays Parade takes place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, rain or shine, with Los Gatos High School English teacher Kurt Kroesche serving as grand marshal for his contributions to youth. Santa will offer photo opportunities in Old Town Dec. 12-14. A European-style Holiday Market runs Dec. 13-14 on the Civic Center lawn, showcasing artists, entertainment, children's activities, and fundraising for local youth and the Live Oak Senior Nutrition Center.
