Gilroy: Mother of twins dies days after husband from crosswalk collision after school drop-off
"For anyone who knew Andrew and Stacia, you know they were always the brightest faces in the room, always smiling, the page reads. They were amazing parents, family members, and friends, and we are all trying to figure out how to navigate a world without them. A tragedy of this magnitude is hard to comprehend, and we don't even know where to start, the page continues."
"We have started this page for assistance in helping the Stuart Twins recover from this insurmountable loss and to allow them to have the best future (possible) We wish this wasn't real, we wish these children did not have to know a life without their parents, and we hope that people take this story and learn to be extra cautious when driving in school zones."
Stacia Stuart, 43, and her husband Andrew Stuart, 44, were struck by a teen driver in a crosswalk at Charles Lux Drive and Lopez Way in Gilroy shortly after 8 a.m. on Jan. 16. Andrew Stuart died at the scene; Stacia Stuart was taken to hospital and later died. The driver stopped and investigators found no evidence of impairment; no arrest or citation was reported. The couple had 7-year-old twins who attend local schools; the twins are being cared for by family. A GoFundMe page seeks assistance and asks drivers to be cautious in school zones.
