Former East Bay Parks general manager threatens legal action against board of directors after resigning
""The board was demanding that I compromise my integrity and values. I would not do that," Landreth wrote. "I stand by my values and my reputation as a professional administrator for the past 25 years.""
""open government and personnel laws,""
""constructively terminated.""
""The board of directors is incredibly thankful for Ms. Landreth's service and her numerous substantial contributions to the operations of the Park District,""
Sabrina Landreth resigned last week and alleges the East Bay Regional Park District board asked her to violate open government and personnel laws. She is seeking legal representation to sue the agency following an employee performance review on Nov. 4 that she says led to her being constructively terminated. Landreth refused board demands she says would have harmed her professional and personal reputation and did not specify those actions. A spokesperson said Landreth cannot provide more details while she seeks counsel and indicated the matter will likely become a lawsuit. Landreth served nearly five years, signed a five-year extension in 2024, oversaw the acquisition of Point Molate, and expanded accessibility across the district's 126,000 acres. The board expressed thanks for her service and held a closed-session meeting where they unanimously voted to appoint a deputy general manager.
