""It sounded like he still believes that it was true love and that what we had was genuine and okay," said Doe."
Marcus Dyson, a former music teacher in the Bayshore Elementary School District, pleaded no contest after admitting to a sexual relationship with a student who was 14. The victim, identified as Jane Doe, said they met when she was 10 and that the abuse began at 14, occurring in the school auditorium music classroom and later at an apartment in Daly City. Authorities say Dyson groomed and coerced the student. Police received the case in November 2023 about nine years after the first kiss, and the victim helped obtain his confession via phone calls. A plea deal was negotiated and sentencing is scheduled next month.
