For Bay Area, a winter heat wave arrives, along with Spare the Air alert
"Yes, I would say it is, That's a fair thing to say."
"We are expecting temperatures along the Central Coast to warm up into the 70s until about Saturday and there may be some higher-elevation spots that get into the high 70s. Generally closer to the (San Francisco) Bay, we expect temperatures to be from the upper 60s to maybe the lower 60s in some places."

A building high-pressure system has cleared clouds and is driving above-normal temperatures across the Bay Area and Northern California. Central Coast highs may reach the 70s through Saturday, with some higher-elevation locales possibly hitting the high 70s; areas nearer the Bay should see upper-60s to lower-60s. Temperatures are forecast about 10–15°F above normal on the central coast and 5–8°F above normal near the central Bay. The Bay Area Air District issued a Spare the Air alert (wood-burning prohibited) and air quality is expected to be only moderately healthy. Increased beach visitation raises risks from rip currents and sneaker waves through Friday night.
