""We were having fun crabbing, all of the sudden, the rope stuck to my propeller. I couldn't get it out, started getting bad," said Nguyen."
""There was three people in the water, two of them were wearing life jackets, one was not, they had to rescue all three from the water," said Sonoma County Sheriff's Sgt. Juan Valencia."
""When I knew the boat was sinking, I tried to get life jacket on, it's too late for me, the boat flipped over. I grabbed the boat," said Nguyen."
""I love America. It's the best country, I came from Vietnam, it's hard to find something like this in any other country," said Nguyen."
Three fishermen capsized near Tomales Bay when a rope became entangled in their boat's propeller amid 8–12 foot waves. The fiberglass boat flipped and the three were in the water about 15 minutes before the Coast Guard and the Sonoma County Sheriff's Marine Unit rescued them. Two of the men were wearing life jackets; one was not. Rescuers brought the fishermen to shore in Bodega Bay and one man with hypothermia was taken to a hospital. Earlier the same day a surfer about 200 yards offshore at North Salmon Creek Beach suffered a hand bite from a likely juvenile shark; the surfer declined transport but later sought treatment and locals report frequent small shark sightings.
