Concord Taco Trail delivers meals of gratitude to nonprofits
"These organizations care for our community year-round, and this is our way of caring for them,"
"It's a small gesture that reminds them they're valued."
Visit Concord partnered with restaurants on the Concord Taco Trail to deliver tortilla-wrapped meals to nonprofit staff and volunteers during Thanksgiving week. Mercado del Sol (1450 Monument Blvd.) brought meals to the White Pony Express, a food recovery program that delivers surplus, high-quality food to organizations serving people in need. Tortilleria El Molino (1500 Monument Blvd.) provided a taco meal break for emergency room nurses at John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek. Los Montanas Supermarket delivered a meal to the Monument Crisis Center from its Concord, Hayward, and San Pablo locations. Puesto at The Veranda delivered tacos to employees and volunteers at the Contra Costa Humane Society. The 40 restaurants on the Taco Trail mark Hispanic Heritage Month with customer challenges and special menus. Details available at visitconcordca.com/eat-drink/taco-trail.
