
"A driver of a Tesla packed with massive bags of marijuana led authorities on a dramatic chase through multiple California cities early Tuesday morning. The chase started after a security guard reported an ongoing burglary at approximately 1:40 a.m. at a cannabis greenhouse facility, located on Potter Road in Salinas, the Monterey County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post. Three to four people were reported taking bags of marijuana from the greenhouse and putting them in a Tesla and a Honda, the sheriff's office said."
"Police began to pursue the Tesla after it was spotted traveling north on Highway 101 at Laurel Drive in Salinas. The driver allegedly "failed to yield," the sheriff's office said, and continued driving toward Gilroy as authorities from the California Highway Patrol, the Gilroy Police Department, the Morgan Hill Police Department and the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office joined the chase."
A burglary at a cannabis greenhouse on Potter Road in Salinas around 1:40 a.m. led to reports of three to four people loading large bags of marijuana into a Tesla and a Honda. Officers pursued the Tesla after it was seen northbound on Highway 101; the driver allegedly failed to yield while CHP, Gilroy Police, Morgan Hill Police and the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office joined the chase. The Tesla was boxed in a Gilroy cul-de-sac; three occupants fled, one 17-year-old was detained and booked into juvenile hall. Deputies found a large load of marijuana in the Tesla, and the Honda crashed into a ditch near Highway 101 and Gould Road. Authorities request tips at 831-755-5111.
