California drivers: Drive 100+ mph, possibly lose your license

"Under the new pilot, every driver cited by the CHP for exceeding 100 mph will have their citation automatically forwarded to the DMV's Driver Safety Branch, no matter their prior record. The DMV will review the case and the driver's history to determine next steps, which could include suspension or even revocation of driving privileges. Under the pilot, every CHP citation for exceeding 100 mph is automatically forwarded to the DMV's Driver Safety Branch for review regardless of prior record.
