Police responded to a burglary in progress at a detached garage on Calaveras Street near Belmont Avenue around 5 pm. Officers arrested Ashley Casillo at the scene, but discovered Adam Mendes was still inside the garage. When surrounded, Mendes punched through the garage roof and fled. He then climbed onto a nearby home, removed a swamp cooler, and entered the attic. Officers pursued him inside, where Mendes threw debris at police and a K9 officer. He was captured on camera falling through the home's roof and was quickly detained by officers. Mendes was arrested and hospitalized for injuries from the fall and K9 bite. The Fresno County Sheriff's Office and Fire Department assisted in the arrest.
