Police later recovered surveillance footage of the package being mailed from a post office in San Francisco,"

Prosecutors previously identified Addleman as a Norteno shot caller with a lengthy criminal history and accused him of possessing pistols hidden in his truck; a past conviction related to a San Francisco shooting also contributed to his firearms prohibition. While released pretrial in 2024, he was linked to multiple alleged crimes, including theft, a hit-and-run, and an Oakland police chase.
