"Berkeley cross country runner Carina Nottingham is the Bay Area News Group's girls high school athlete of the week for Nov. 24-29. In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nottingham finished with 48.2% of the votes. Gunderson basketball player Chiemi Wong took second at 45.2%. Congratulations to all the candidates for this week's recognition. Nottingham, a senior, clocked the third-best finish for a Northern California runner and best in the Bay Area with a time of 17:53.1 at the CIF Division I meet, placing 16th."
