"A Bay Area man was killed in a skiing accident over the weekend at Northstar in Truckee, marking the ski resort's second fatality in less than two weeks, according to authorities. The Placer County Sheriff's Office identified the man as Stuart McLaughlin, 53, of Hillsborough. Two skiers collided Sunday on the advanced Polaris Trail, Northstar California Resort said in a statement. One was pronounced dead at the scene by the Northstar Fire Department and the other was taken to Tahoe Forest Hospital in Truckee."

On Feb. 6, Nicholas Kenworthy, 26, of Los Angeles, was killed while skiing at Northstar. Ski patrol found the man on the Martis Trail, another advanced run, according to the resort. He was transferred to the Truckee Fire Department and pronounced dead."
