"On Dec. 12, Tarvid had been granted pre-trial release for a case in which he was charged Dec. 3 with sending harmful material to seduce a minor, communicating with a minor with intent to commit a felony, and arranging to meet a minor for sex. Some of the conditions of this release included warrantless search and seizure and not having access to an email, smartphone or social media platforms."
"Investigators went to Tarvid's residence on Venti Lane near Highway 12 about 12:15 p.m. Tuesday and placed him in handcuffs before searching his home. They found a smartphone, which is still being processed as of Thursday, and suspected fentanyl, Seffens said. Police also spoke with two women at the residence, one of whom they believe is a commercial sex worker who had been promised shelter at Tarvid's home in exchange for sexual acts. They did not find any evidence that sex acts had occurred."
Michael Tarvid, 63, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and pandering, with an enhancement for committing a felony while on bail. On Dec. 12, he was granted pre-trial release in a separate case that included charges for sending harmful material to seduce a minor, communicating with a minor with intent to commit a felony, and arranging to meet a minor for sex. Some conditions of the release included warrantless search and seizure and not having access to an email, smartphone or social media platforms. A commercial sex worker reported Tarvid contacted a sex worker online, prompting investigators to search his Venti Lane residence and recover a smartphone and suspected fentanyl.
