"Jake Haro, 32, received a 25 years-to-life sentence for the murder of his 7-month-old son, Emmanuel. He and his wife, Rebecca Haro, were accused of faking their son's kidnapping. She has pleaded not guilty to murder. Because Haro violated probation from a prior child abuse charge, he must serve a minimum of 30 years before becoming eligible for parole again."
"Haro, 32, who initially pleaded not guilty, reversed course and pleaded guilty on Oct. 16 to one count each of murder, assault on a child under 8 causing death and filing a false police report, according to the Riverside County district attorney's office. He and his wife, Rebecca Haro, 41, reported that their son was kidnapped after someone attacked her in a Yucaipa parking lot on Aug. 14."
Jake Haro, 32, pleaded guilty on Oct. 16 to murder, assault on a child under 8 causing death, and filing a false police report, and received a 25-years-to-life sentence plus 180 days. Because the crimes occurred while he was on probation, he must also serve a prior six-years-eight-months child abuse sentence, making him ineligible for parole for at least 30 years. Haro and his wife reported that their 7-month-old son Emmanuel was kidnapped after an attack, but detectives found holes in their story and charged both parents; his wife pleaded not guilty. Haro previously was convicted of felony willful child endangerment after a 2018 injury to his baby daughter.
