"It will be heaviest during the overnight hours,"

An atmospheric storm will bring rain and strong winds across the Bay Area beginning Wednesday, with the main rainband likely arriving just before the Thursday morning commute. Rainfall will be heaviest overnight, generally between midnight and about 5 a.m. Thursday. Forecast totals include about 1 inch in San Francisco; just under an inch in San Jose and parts of the East Bay; around 1.5 inches in parts of the North Bay; and up to 3 inches in coastal ranges like the Santa Cruz Mountains. Coastal gusts may reach 45–55 mph and up to 60 mph at higher elevations. The storm will move east, bringing rain and up to 18 inches of snow at higher elevations in the Tahoe region, with a few inches possible at lake level and potential travel impacts before the weekend.
