Congregation Beth David in Saratoga hosted an artist fair to raise money for charity. One room of the synagogue displayed items from artisans working in fruit preserves, writing, sculpting, crocheting, jewelry-making and photography. Twenty percent of proceeds were designated for United Indonesian Jewish Communities to help address isolation and difficulties of being Jewish in a predominantly Muslim country. The event highlighted photographers, sculptors, wood carvers and potters and aimed to celebrate community creativity. Bronze sculptures of people and Biblical figures were on display. Vendors offered a wide array of fruit preserves to preserve fruit and prevent waste.
