Hard Rock Casino Tejon will open Nov. 13 in Mettler, Kern County, on Tejon Indian Tribe lands managed by Hard Rock International. The $600 million development features about 150,000 square feet of gaming space with over 2,000 slot machines, live table games including blackjack, Ultimate Texas Hold 'em and three-card poker, and rooms for exclusive games. The site lies near the Grapevine at the base of the mountain pass by the 5 Freeway. The tribe won federal recognition in 2011. Construction created thousands of jobs and the casino will support about 1,000 permanent positions.
