Truvista Fiber to acquire SlyTel
"With Truvista Fiber, former SlyTel customers will be able to access new video and voice products and will have the option to purchase 2 Gig or 5 Gig speeds. "We are committed to enhancing the quality of life in the areas we serve," Truvista President and CEO Carla French said in a prepared statement about the SlyTel acquisition. "By keeping our focus on the customer experience, we bring innovation, growth and community progress to local families and businesses.""
"Truvista is a provisional award winner in the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program in South Carolina. As announced earlier in the fall, Truvista stands to be awarded $6.2 million for its fiber project. As of this writing, South Carolina is among the 29 states whose BEAD awards have been approved by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA)."
Truvista Fiber will acquire Sylvester, Georgia–based municipal telecom provider SlyTel for an undisclosed price. Once the transaction closes, SlyTel will operate under the Truvista Fiber name and customers will be migrated to the Truvista network over the next several weeks. Former SlyTel customers will gain access to new video and voice products and may choose 2 Gig or 5 Gig service tiers. Truvista emphasizes enhancing local quality of life through customer-focused innovation and community progress. Sylvester city leadership prioritized finding a partner able to invest in the network while preserving top-tier customer service. Truvista previously acquired PlantTel and is a provisional BEAD award winner in South Carolina, with potential $6.2 million funding.
