In July 2025, the Golden Gate Business Association's new Board of Directors, comprised largely of members with less than two years' experience, held its inaugural in-person retreat. The focus was on building trust, aligning on a shared vision, and establishing actionable goals. The planning outlined priority objectives such as enhancing membership engagement, refining event strategies, and improving partnerships. Under the membership objective, the board aims to clean up membership data to accurately reflect member demographics and improve communication while enhancing events for the upcoming years.
Our planning centered around three priority levels of objectives: those that are Critical to Achieve, Necessary to Achieve, and Nice to Achieve, focusing on key areas like membership engagement, events, partnerships, finance, and governance.
Membership: We're undertaking a much-needed cleanup of our membership data to ensure accuracy and better understand who our members are, what industries they represent, and how to design programming that meets their needs.
