Cadwalader lost 37 lawyers to Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe in October and partner groups to Proskauer Rose and Sidley Austin in 2025. The firm retains core profitable structured finance and other corporate practices.

Law.com contacted Cadwalader after legal industry sources said it is in merger talks with several top-grossing law firms. But a firm spokesperson told the publication that merger suitors aren't unusual."
