"Tremendous all-around game from Casey McKinney. She's playing at such a high level for us right now and her intensity has spread to her teammates,"
"This is a big win for our girls. It's the kind of team effort we want to continue to build upon."
"Amsterdam proved to be every bit of a huge test for us," Rizzo said. "They're a solid team that plays very good basketball. Our transition game continues to improve and we ran the floor well. More importantly, we were able to maintain our poise and answer each time Amsterdam went on a run. "Our defense made the adjustments to limit (two of their best players) from getting good looks at the basket."
Casey McKinney dominated with 33 points and 18 rebounds as Susan Wagner defeated Amsterdam 63-50 in the Gators MLK Day Tournament at Achievement First HS. Jamielyn Chin added 12 points and Danielle Harrell contributed six points and eight assists. The Falcons led 32-25 at halftime and 52-40 after three quarters, improving to 13-6 overall. The team ran the floor effectively, showed improved transition play, maintained poise during Amsterdam runs, and made defensive adjustments to limit two of Amsterdam's top players. Notre Dame Academy edged Brandeis 45-44, and Moore Catholic beat St. Dominic's 45-34.
