""I'm still not over it," Reznick, 89, told the Daily News. "I was there for 26 hours, and I felt like I was there for a week. You have no idea what they did for us and how they treated us. All the stars were there. It was unbelievable, absolutely wonderful.""
""They don't need a championship," Reznick said. "However [the Nets] play, it's good enough for us. The new guys that came in, if these guys all get together and they make a tremendous showing and we go pretty far, I'd feel just as well as if they were in the basement. I love them in the basement. I love them on the roof. Wherever they are, I love them, and that's a fan.""
Bruce Reznick, known as Mr. Whammy, has been a courtside presence for decades, waving his arms and shouting to distract opponents at the free-throw line. This summer his signature whammy earned him a spot in the Basketball Hall of Fame's James F. Goldstein SuperFan Gallery. Reznick, 89, described the Hall of Fame experience as overwhelming and wonderful, saying he felt treated like a star and that the event lingered in memory far beyond its hours. Reznick expresses unwavering loyalty to the Nets regardless of wins or losses and praises the fan base's loyalty. The Daily News polled Nets fans on X about the 2025-26 season, receiving more than 80 responses and selecting 65 participants to answer eight identical questions about feelings, offseason views, excitements, worries, players to watch, confidence in Sean Marks and Jordi Fernández, and fan identity.
