
"A young woman was struck in the head with a tree branch in a bizarre unprovoked attack in a Brooklyn subway station, police said Thursday. The 22-year-old victim was walking down the stairs in the Myrtle Ave. station near the border of Bushwick and Bedford-Stuyvesant when the attacker confronted her about 5:55 p.m. Friday, cops said. He grabbed a tree branch from a garbage can and swung it at her, striking her in the head before running off."
"The victim victim suffered pain but declined medical attention. Despite the incident, felony subway assaults are down 2% this year compared to 2024, according to NYPD statistics, and misdemeanor assaults are down 6% Cops released surveillance footage of the suspect and are asking the public's help identifying him and tracking him down.
