"Antonio is deeply trusted by our movement. We know that as a member of Congress, he will lead the fights to protect immigrants, stand up for tenants, stand arm in arm with labor, and make New York a place where working families can afford to live and thrive."
"Since my time as an organizer and from the beginning of my time in public office, we have worked together on critical issues for working families in this city like affordable housing, universal childcare and supporting our immigrant communities."
Antonio Reynoso, Brooklyn Borough President, has received the Working Families Party endorsement in the Democratic primary race to succeed U.S. Rep. Nydia Velázquez in New York's 7th Congressional District. Reynoso competes against Assembly Member Claire Valdez and Council Member Julie Won in the June primary. The district, spanning north Brooklyn and western Queens, is among the nation's most liberal congressional districts. Reynoso previously secured endorsements from Velázquez, multiple City Council Members, Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, and Queens Borough President Donovan Richards. The Working Families Party praised Reynoso as the best candidate to represent working families, emphasizing his commitment to immigrant protection, tenant advocacy, labor support, and affordable housing.
