"I feel a tremendous amount of gratitude because it took an inordinate amount of work and uncertainty to get to this point, so now that we're finally here, we can breathe. The new school features large classrooms with plenty of natural light and additional shared spaces for clubs, sports and after-school programs."
"The old building was super challenging. Coming here and seeing all the space, we finally get to see the promised land. [We] are excited to just have a new home where we can finally do the programming that we had been envisioning for all of our students."
"I think my kids deserve that. I think all kids deserve to be in a space with the amenities that they need to do well. The new school features large classrooms with plenty of natural light and additional shared spaces for clubs, sports and after-school programs."
Achievement First Ujima High School, a public charter school in East New York, officially opened its new permanent building at 475 Euclid Ave., a 60,180 square-foot facility spanning four floors. The school previously operated in shared and temporary spaces, which limited programming and student opportunities. The new building features large classrooms with natural light, expanded shared spaces for clubs and sports, and dedicated areas for college and career services. School leaders emphasized that the improved facilities enable students to explore their interests more fully and participate in comprehensive programming previously constrained by space limitations. The building includes thoughtful design elements and amenities that administrators believe all students deserve.
