Third Avenue Festival draws record crowds for 52nd year in Bay Ridge * Brooklyn Paper
"The entire community really came out in full force to support the festival,"
"The festival committee did a wonderful job as always."
"The biggest crowd we've seen in years,"
"We're continuing our mission of making Third Avenue a destination for the entire New York City area, not just the Bay Ridge community."
The 52nd Annual Third Avenue Festival transformed 25 blocks of Bay Ridge from 69th to 94th Street into a celebration of food, music and community on Sept. 28. More than 180 vendors sold food, drinks and local goods while 15 stages hosted live entertainment including Dimensions in Dance, a Hoteikan Dojo martial arts showcase, and musical acts like Frankie Marra and His Band. Restaurants expanded outdoor dining and nonprofits connected with visitors under tents. Thousands attended, including mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa and other elected officials. Organizers reported a record turnout and articulated a goal of making Third Avenue a New York City destination.
