Temporary Library Branch Opens in Fort Greene as Walt Whitman Library Undergoes Renovation

The Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) has opened the Walt Whitman Pop-Up Library in Fort Greene, located at 240 Nassau St., while the original branch undergoes renovations. This temporary facility, provided at no charge by Alloy Development, aims to continue serving the community’s library needs with a selection of books, reference assistance, and various programs during its operational hours from Monday to Friday, 10:00am to 1:45pm.

While the branch undergoes a much-needed renovation, 240 Nassau will allow us to continue providing the library services the neighborhood relies on.

Libraries are a critical resource and through this partnership, the community will be able to continue accessing BPL's services and programs right here in Fort Greene.
