Due to delays in the renovation of the Carroll Gardens Library, Community Board 6 has offered its office space as a temporary library set to open in July 2025. This interim library will operate four days a week, ensuring community access while the main library undergoes extensive renovations. The permanent library, recognized as one of Brooklyn's most beautiful, will remain closed until summer 2026 due to additional construction needs. This solution aims to help maintain library services in the community during an extended renovation period.
I'm thrilled that the Carroll Gardens Library will continue serving the community during renovations through this interim location at 250 Baltic Street, which is also home to Brooklyn Community Board 6.
The permanent library, which is more than a century old and is considered one of Brooklyn's 'most beautiful' Carnegie libraries, closed for renovations in 2023.
