Six separate fires occurred across Brooklyn between Friday night and Sunday morning, injuring eleven people and prompting large firefighting responses. The first blaze began shortly before 6 p.m. Friday in East New York and was brought under control by Engine 290 and Ladder 103. Early Saturday, a fire at the Blew Smoke Cigar Lounge in Crown Heights drew about 60 firefighters and resulted in seven minor injuries. Additional apartment and private-dwelling fires in Windsor Terrace, Gowanus, and East New York were quickly controlled with hoselines and caused no injuries. A complex multi-floor fire in Clinton Hill spread into the cockloft, required multiple alarms, and forced crews to dig out snow-covered hydrants.
