Service changes coming to G train this month as MTA modernizes crosstown signals
"The G train will run on the F line past its usual terminus at Church Avenue to Coney Island-Stillwell Av in Brooklyn from 11 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday. This service change has been cleverly named the G to the sea."
"For most of next week and the week after, there will be no G trains running between Court Sq in Queens and Bedford-Nostrand Avs in Brooklyn. Commuters can use T403 shuttle buses making G train stops between those two stations."
"The MTA is making G train service adjustments to continue performing signal modernization and track maintenance along the line serving Brooklyn and Queens. The signal modernization work includes installing cables and other equipment."
"The G train's signals are being updated for the first time in nearly 100 years, switching out aging analog signals for modern communications-based train control (CBTC) systems to improve safety and efficiency."
The MTA announced service changes for the G train, including running on the F line to Coney Island-Stillwell Av. There will be no G trains between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs, with shuttle buses replacing service. This schedule is effective from April 13 to April 15 and April 20 to April 24. The G train's signals are being modernized for the first time in nearly 100 years, transitioning from analog to communications-based train control systems to enhance safety and efficiency.
