Brooklyn Botanic Garden (BBG) celebrates the centennial of its bonsai collection, which is one of the most significant outside of Japan. From June 14 to October 19, the Steinhardt Conservatory showcases an expanded display featuring new specimens and outdoor bonsai exhibits along with workshops and a gallery of manga-style art. The bonsai art originated in China and evolved in Japan, highlighting the skill of pruning and training trees into intricate shapes. The collection boasts many historic trees, with efforts to keep the displays fresh and engaging for visitors.
