Around 9 a.m. on Oct. 5, six uniformed officers from the 67th Precinct responded to a 911 domestic-violence call at 125 East 86th St. The male suspect allegedly had violated a court order of protection and matched the caller’s description. Officers approached and the man fled; they pursued him southbound on East 86th Street about a block and a half to Coventry Road. At the intersection the man pointed a handgun at officers and did not comply with repeated verbal demands to drop the weapon. An officer fired once, striking him in the chest. Body-worn cameras captured the incident. Officers rendered medical aid, and witnesses reported EMS took about 20 minutes to arrive.
