A parking lot at 153 Nevins Street in Boerum Hill will be transformed into 70 affordable, rent-stabilized homes. This initiative follows NYC Housing Week 2025, showcasing a commitment to affordable rental housing and supportive apartments for former homeless individuals. The project will be led by the non-profit Fifth Avenue Committee, partnering with Magnusson Architecture and Planning for the design. Deputy Mayor Adolfo Carrion Jr. emphasized the importance of utilizing city land for affordable housing, while FAC's executive director expressed excitement for the project’s potential community benefits.
"To combat the housing crisis, every piece of underutilized city land must be unlocked to provide safe and healthy affordable housing," said Deputy Mayor Adolfo Carrion Jr.
FAC is thrilled to have been selected by HPD to bring 70 new, beautiful, affordable homes to Boerum Hill!" said Michelle de la Uz, executive director of Fifth Avenue Committee.
