New Coney Escape Room brings year-round adventure to the People's Playground * Brooklyn Paper
"Coney Island has always been about fun and imagination. We wanted to create an experience where people can come together, solve puzzles and enjoy themselves - even when the rides aren't running or the beach isn't packed."
"Escape rooms challenge participants to solve clues and puzzles within a set time limit to 'escape' a themed environment. At Coney Island Escape Room, groups of two to eight players will have 60 minutes to complete each adventure."
"The pirate-themed game is loosely inspired by stories about the 17th-century privateer William Kidd, whose rumored hidden riches have long been part of maritime folklore along the Northeastern coast."
Coney Escape Room, a new puzzle-based interactive entertainment venue, will open March 21 at 1205 Surf Ave in Coney Island. The venue aims to provide locals and visitors with activities during off-season months when traditional attractions like rides and beaches are less active. Groups of two to eight players have 60 minutes to solve clues and puzzles within three themed environments. The three original rooms feature a haunted funeral parlor with supernatural mysteries, a boardwalk discovery leading to international conspiracy and interrogation, and a pirate adventure inspired by 17th-century privateer William Kidd's legendary hidden treasure. Owner Anna Geller created the venue to maintain Coney Island's tradition of fun and imagination year-round.
