Malliotakis contributed to advancement of 'Big Beautiful Bill'
Briefly

Congressmember Nicole Malliotakis has been influential in advancing several legislative initiatives in the Republican-majority House, particularly within the comprehensive 'One Big, Beautiful Bill.' This legislation, passed by the House Ways and Means Committee after extensive deliberation, aims to maintain low income tax rates and incentivize domestic manufacturing while modifying tax breaks, notably reducing benefits for clean energy initiatives. While it proposes increased deductions for seniors and easing tax burdens, it faces opposition among House Democrats due to its stance on clean energy production tax breaks, highlighting the partisan divisions in tax policy discussions.
BAY RIDGE - BROOKLYN CONGRESSMEMBER NICOLE MALLIOTAKIS (R-11) authored, co-sponsored or championed several pieces of legislation that have been included in the Republican-majority House of Representatives 'One Big, Beautiful Bill,' her office announced Wednesday morning, May 14.
Malliotakis also worked to prevent the reinstatement of the Alternative Minimum Tax and to make permanent reduced income tax brackets which were established in 2017.
The legislation advanced Wednesday morning from the House Ways and Means Committee by a vote of 26-19 following an 18-hour marathon meeting.
However, the bill would also eliminate tax breaks for clean-energy production which is a sticking point among House Democrats poised to vote against it.
