Kaya Bliss opened on Jan. 7, 2025 at 8412 Third Ave. as Bay Ridge's first licensed adult-use cannabis dispensary following months of regulatory hurdles and community pushback. The shop occupies the former Pilo Arts salon and features bright murals, curated shelves and staff trained to assist both seasoned consumers and first-time users. Co-owner Edgar Kleydman described the pre-opening moments as "a nervous wreck" before customers lined up around the block. Kaya Bliss welcomed more than 100,000 "blissful" customers in its first year and stocks over 400 products from 30+ brands. The mission emphasizes clean, lab-tested cannabis, education, wellness and community, and the store hosted a three-day anniversary celebration with discounts, brand pop-ups and giveaways.
