Hundreds join Way of the Cross procession over the Brooklyn Bridge
Briefly

On Good Friday, the Brooklyn Bridge became a site of solemn reflection as hundreds participated in the annual Way of the Cross procession, marking the Passion and Crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Sponsored by the Communion and Liberation movement since 1996, this year's event held special significance due to the coinciding calendars of Holy Week for Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Christians. The procession fostered a spirit of unity, with various religious leaders, including Cardinal Dolan and Bishop Brennan, leading prayers and reflections, and participants expressing gratitude and remembrance of Christ's sacrifices.
"This is the first year that we're going to be doing the Way of the Cross with the Greek Orthodox community... as a gesture of unity."
"I just wanted to come out and remember everything that happened that God did for us... on Good Friday. It’s an important day to remember all the sacrifices that were made for us."
