""What type of person are you to go and rob a 10-year-old?" Daughtry said"
A man followed a 10-year-old named Amir home from school in Crown Heights and threatened him with a knife, forcing the child to surrender $20 from his piggy bank. The child had earned the money through chores, good grades, and punctuality. The robbery occurred while the mother was briefly away exchanging her phone. The child complied out of fear and to get the attacker away from the doorway. Deputy Mayor Kaz Daughtry gifted the child an iPad and reimbursed the lost money. The mother now accompanies the child to school until the suspect is apprehended.
