A man shoved a 3-year-old girl outside the Foodtown supermarket at 382 McDonald Ave. in Kensington just before 1 p.m. on Aug. 25, per the NYPD. The child was walking with her mother when the man suddenly shoved the toddler without speaking. The toddler fell to the pavement and suffered an abrasion to her right elbow but did not require hospitalization. The suspect continued walking northbound on McDonald Avenue wearing a green jacket, black pants, and gray sneakers. Police released surveillance photos and asked the public to provide tips. Assaults in the 66th Precinct are up over 9% year-to-date.
The incident occurred outside of the Foodtown supermarket located at 382 McDonald Ave. just before 1 p.m. on Aug. 25, per the NYPD. The young child was walking with her mother when a man walking by them suddenly shoved the toddler without saying a word. The victim's mother told police that the suspect continued to walk as though nothing ever happened after the preschooler fell to the pavement.
The young girl suffered an abrasion to her right elbow but was not hospitalized as a result of the sudden attack. Meanwhile, the suspect was last seen heading northbound on McDonald Avenue wearing a green jacket, black pants, and gray sneakers. Police have released surveillance photos of the suspect in hopes he will be recognized. So far this year, assault is up more than 9% in the 66th Precinct, which includes Kensington, according to the latest NYPD data.
