The annual neighborhood summer cleanup series in Southwest Brooklyn is set to begin on July 12. Volunteers will meet at 29 Bay 25th St. to clean targeted areas. Assembly Member William Colton and City Council Member Susan Zhuang emphasize the importance of community involvement in enhancing neighborhood quality. Colton stated that these initiatives beautify the area and unite residents. Zhuang echoed these sentiments, stressing the collaboration needed between communities and city government for ongoing attention to local needs and ensuring clean and safe streets.
Our community cleanups are incredibly important. Not only do they beautify the neighborhood, making it an even better place to work, live and raise a family, but they bring residents together with a common goal of improving the place they are proud to call home.
Our community is always in need of cleanup, and I spend everyday fighting to ensure the city pays attention. This cleanup is not only important to ensure we enhance our quality of life but showing city government that we care about our district and we need them to care too.
