Carroll Gardens to Get Temporary Library as Reno Continues
Briefly

The Carroll Gardens Library is undergoing extensive renovations expected to last until summer 2026. To continue serving residents during this time, Community Board 6 will host a temporary library starting July at their 250 Baltic Street office. This interim facility will be open four days a week with limited hours, allowing community access to library resources. The renovations are partly due to the need for structural enhancements to support new HVAC systems, and funding from local officials has been secured to ensure comprehensive updates to the historic library.
I'm thrilled that the Carroll Gardens Library will continue serving the community during renovations through this interim location at 250 Baltic Street.
The permanent library, which is more than a century old, closed for renovations in 2023, with additional structural enforcements required for new HVAC units.
