USS Gravely, a US guided missile destroyer, docked in Trinidad about 20 miles from the Venezuelan coast amid intensifying US–Venezuela tensions. The ship's visit represents the closest known US naval presence near Venezuela following a recent military build-up in the Southern Caribbean.
